FFB Weekly 5 (#11)

After AJ’s thrashing to bring the scores back level two weeks ago in a 4-1 rout, there was nothing of the sort last weekend. There was one goal correctly selected and it was Mo Salah’s strike against Cardiff to give Jake a 1-0 win and a 16-15 overall lead.

Week 10 Score: Jake 1-0 AJ

Overall Score: Jake 16-15 AJ

Jake’s 5

Sadio Mane (arsenal v LIVERPOOL)

So here we are, match of the weekend. I’ve plumped for Firmino whilst Mane has been peppering the goals in so I’ve changed tact this weekend. Guaranteed: Firmino double earns Liverpool a win on Saturday night.

Felipe Anderson (WEST HAM UNITED v burnley)

With Yarmolenko out for a long, long time and Andy Carroll working his way back from injury, Felipe Anderson has to shoulder a lot of responsibility. Just remember how he played against Arsenal and Man Utd. That’s why I picked him.

Alexandre Lacazette (ARSENAL v liverpool)

Laca and Auba as their known to Arsenal fans as they famously can’t say players’ names above 4 letters, are on fire. It was a flip of the coin here, I’m not saying Arsenal are nailed onto win this, I see this as either tetchy 1-1 draw or a perfunctory battering off Liverpool.

Sergio Aguero (MANCHESTER CITY v southampton)

Aguero. Home match. Against bottom half opposition. To ruin Mark Hughes’ birthday week. All these boxes have been checked vociferously. In the words of Ian Brown: it’s inevitable.

Marcus Rashford (bournemouth v MANCHESTER UNITED)

Rashford has a good record against Bournemouth and whether he starts or not we’ll depend on Mourinho’s famous reluctance to keep the same functioning line-up. Martial might be the most likely to score but I’m going for Rashford based on his record v Bournemouth.

AJ’s 5

BIG CENK (EVERTON v brighton & hove albion)

It’s Big Cenk. I don’t need an explanation.

Danny Ings (manchester city v SOUTHAMPTON)

Hear me out, Mark Hughes will have added motivation going back to Eastlands as it’s so rarely called nowadays. Southampton’s only goal threat of any form? Danny Ings. Logic.

BIG RUBES (CHELSEA v crystal palace)

Get Denzel Washington to play Ruben Loftus-Cheek in the inevitable biopic because the Chelsea midfielder is a Man on Fire. 4 goals in 2 games last week, he can’t be stopped and this Sunday, struggling Palace turn up to the Bridge.

Marcus Rashford (bournemouth v MANCHESTER UNITED)

I have to block out Jake’s superior record against me somehow. Rashford is always quick and powerful going forward and I fancy him out of the many, many, many

Shane Duffy (everton v BRIGHTON & HOVE ALBION)

Jake scored his only point the week before last with a wildcard in the shape of Capoue, so here’s my wildcard this week. Shane Duffy has the head of a brick and he’s better in the air than the Everton defence.
