FFB Team of the Week (#2)

Arsenal fell again, Manchester United fell and seemingly title favourites Wolves fell. Tottenham, Chelsea and Manchester City all continued their perfect starts to the season whilst Manuel Pellegrini struggles to set the world alight in East London. In fact, his fans just might set the London Stadium alight before he does with his team.

Goalkeeper

Ben Hamer: Just what was the man thinking of for Manchester City’s first goal? Poor goalkeeping in a day where Huddersfield shipped six goals at the Etihad – an automatic inclusion on that basis alone. JD

Defence

Terence Kongolo: Scored an own goal which merits his inclusion here. I really want to like Kongolo, as a Football Manager legend of the past and a once Feyenoord wonderkid, but he’s had another shocker. JD

Eric Bailly: Usually the Ivorian is so calm and composed in a Manchester United defence so God only knows what inspired his insipid performance down on the south coast. Shocking defensively and gave away a sloppy penalty in a bad day at the office for United. JD

Angelo Ogbonna: The former Juventus man was at fault for Bournemouth’s winner at the London Stadium. Just when is this former Champions League finalist going to click at West Ham? JD

Steve Cook: FFB favourite big Steve Cook scored another trademark goal in Bournemouth’s dismantling of West Ham, won’t be his last this season. AJ

Midfield

David Silva: He’s still got it, Man City might be missing KDB for three months but Silva’s performance against Town will provide comfort to fans that they still have enough talent to take teams apart. AJ

Fred: Proving to be the shithouse that United lacked in central midfield, kicks everything in sight, sometimes it’s the ball, somtimes the opposition, sometimes Luke Shaw. AJ

Attack

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Those misses. Not enough going forward in another flimsy Arsenal performance. JD

Sergio Aguero: Another hat trick in another rampant Man City performance, well done to Town for rolling over and dying. AJ

Calum Wilson: Turned into Maradona at the Olympic Stadium scoring one of the best goals of the weekend, the Cherries will be hoping his form can continue. AJ

Alvaro Morata: Got a much needed goal, repaying Sarri’s faith in him as his first choice, will need to carry on to make sure Giroud doesnt find his way back in. AJ
